Report questions the value of Microsoft’s Software Assurance program

July 12, 2007

This report by Jeremy Reimer is yet another slap-in-the-face for Microsoft - makes interesting reading. No surprises of course for anyone working in the Enterprise Software market, but interesting that now Forrester is wading in on the complaints. Not good for Microsoft…

“Forrester research recently released a study that analyzed 63 customers of Microsoft’s Software Assurance (SA) program, which provides continual updates to new versions of a large number of Microsoft products in exchange for a yearly fee. The study raises questions about the financial benefits of SA and suggests that many long-time SA customers are considering dropping the program.”
