Symantec release Norton AntiBot
July 18, 2007
Now we’re talking! This article talks about the new product from Symantec. Finally a product that might actually be relevant to today’s threats!
“Symantec has released its AntiBot software to help computer users stop and delete unwanted Trojan Horse programs. AntiBot uses behaviorial-based algorithms to clean the “millions upon millions” of bot-infected computers, according to Rowan Trollop, senior vice president of Symantec’s Consumer Products Division.”
However, this is of course version 1.0… I wouldn’t get too enthusiastic yet. Also note that this is currently only available for Windows XP or Vista - I guess because that’s where the biggest threats are today…
