Seen this article recently? “Symantec has delayed its virtualized security system for Intel’s vPro platform because of licensing issues around Windows CE.” What about this one? “Windows Genuine Advantage suffers worldwide outage, problems galore.” What happens when you make it expensive and difficult to license your software? You simply make room for competitors who will fill the gap with reasonably priced software, whose license arrangements are a breeze…
Monster.com falls victim to trojan attack

Recruitment website, Monster.com has suffered a massive security breach, leaving thousands of users’ personal details exposed. The breach was reported yesterday, as a new trojan called Infostealer.Monstres was detected while uploading data from a remote server of the recruiter. Read more

Desktop Wars - Why does the OS we prefer evoke such powerful passions?

One of the things you might notice whenever there is an article about Vista is that a lot of people seem to feel VERY strongly about their chosen Operating System - whether its Vista or not. Why is this? Why do the comments at the bottom of such articles seem more akin to a religious debate on points of theology? Maybe we are all just a lot more committed to our computers and the interface we use to operate them than we realise!
