How Vista could be redeemed…
November 28, 2007
Don Reisinger at CNET has written another brilliant and perhaps somewhat tongue-in-cheek article on some ways forward for Microsoft with Vista. In spite of the underlying humour intended, he is probably exactly right. “Why won’t you abandon me, Microsoft?”
Don presents four recommendations:
1. Go Open Source. Absolutely. Imagine how many bugs would get fixed!
2. Eliminate all of those versions and only sell Ultimate. Yep - complete no-brainer.
3. Stop focusing on Google and start focusing on Apple. This is where the real threat to Microsoft’s business is in my mind.
4. Ditch Windows 7 and bring Windows online. I’m not entirely convinced on this one yet but I’m open to further persuasion…
The article is well written and definitely worth a read. Check it out for yourself…

P.S. I’m promoting Reisinger’s article for no other reason other than it is good! I get no kick-backs for doing so.
