OTB 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 with 4.6 Bootloader - hacked!

Apparently, its finally been done - credit to George Hotz! The iPhone Installer App now has a new package called “1.1.2-1.1.3 OTB G-Unlock” which installs directly from the iPhone.

Currently, it has to be run from 1.1.1 so you must downgrade first - after which you can run the DevTeam Jailbreak (also in Installer) to Upgrade back to 1.1.3 - see here. Not sure if this will be improved to run from 1.1.3 itself, but if not it still sounds relatively trivial to execute.

I won’t get a chance to try this out for a couple of days but once confirmed, this will indeed be a great breakthru. Well done George!!!

Update 11 Feb 2008: I’ve tried this and I can now confirm that it worked for me - fully unlocked - no piggy-back SIM required! Also, checkout the Modmyifone Forum here. Lots of others have had success as well. Looks like all is well until 1.1.4!!!
