Any-version iPhone Unlocking Tool?

Hot on the heels of the George Hots hack for OTB 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 phones, it appears that Zibri has release a tool called ZiPhone. Apparently, his software is based on George’s hack and previous exploits, and is designed to unlock any released version of iPhone!

ZiPhone is a command-line driven executable for both Windows(not Vista yet) and OSX(Leopard), and as such requires some caution. For Windows users, iphone.unlock.no has put together a GUI (graphic user interface) for Ziphone.exe to make it a tad easier - see details here.

Executing the OSX version ‘ziphone’ produced this output:

Usage: ziphone [-u] [-a] [-j] [-i imei]
-u: Unlock (Only for 4.6 BL)
-a: Activate
-j: Jailbreak
-i: Change imei (Only for 4.6 BL)
-v: Verbose boot (debug)

The ReadMe file states:

Instructions:
Connect a brand new phone to the dock. Run the program
You can also use a restored phone…Or a normal in use phone…

Unlock and Imei changer will work ONLY on 4.6 BL (112 and 113 ootb).
Jailbreak will work on any OS version.
Activation will work on any OS version, except for youtube on 1.0.X.

I have not tested this but it looks very useful, although obviously not yet foolproof judging by some of the comments below the blog entry! And changing the IMEI is actually illegal in some countries so avoid that option. The full blog entry and download links are available here.
