Although Apple is selling its new Mac OS X Leopard operating system on its improved security, researchers at Heise Security have already found fault with its firewall.
Leopard upgraders should be aware of this - while it’s easy to turn the Firewall back on, it is an oversight that Apple will need to address.

Apple estimates 250,000 iPhones sold to SIM unlockers

“On today’s Apple Q4 earnings call Apple stated that ‘Apple estimates 250,000 iPhones were sold with intention to unlock,’ and that ‘many of those sales happened after the price cut’.” Really? Surprise, surprise. There must still be huge volumes of people who a dying to get hold of one…

Is Apple ready to embrace developers for the iPhone?

According to one report Tuesday morning, yes. BusinessWeek cites sources ‘familiar with the company’s plans’ who say Apple will officially release a software development kit for the iPhone in early 2008. Those sources say the official announcement could come during Steve Jobs’ keynote at the annual Macworld Expo on January 15.
If this is true, then Apple should be applauded. Many, many iPhone users will be extremely grateful. Let’s see if it happens…
